BSc (Hons)

Clinical Trial Manager

I currently work as a Clinical Trial Manager on the NewKI and MICAD trials. NewKI is an observational study recruiting up to 3000 participants across GP practices in the Thames Valley. The aim is to measure the incidence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the rate of progression of CKD stages. The MICAD trial will investigate the biomarker effects of a new drug on patients with mild cognitive impairment. If we find good biomarkers from this study, we will be able to later design studies to test whether this new medication can slow or prevent the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.

I joined the Primary Care Clinical Trials Unit in January 2015 working as a Research Assistant on various studies as part of the Health Behaviours team and more recently, as part of the Cardio-Vascular and Renal theme. Prior to this, I worked as Data Support Officer at the Warwick Clinical Trials unit working on a variety of Breast Cancer Studies.
